Marko Milenkovic has been principal violist with the WDR Symphony Orchestra since 2024 and will take up a professorship for viola at the Cologne University of Music and Dance in the winter semester of 2025. Prior to this, he became principal violist with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra at the age of 22. As a guest principal violist, he has worked with the Camerata Bern, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and other European ensembles. Festival appearances have taken him to the Salzburg Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, and the Rheingau Music Festival, where he has performed with musicians such as Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Valentin Erben, and Ilya Gringolts. With the Adelphi Quartet, he has won international prizes, including first prize at the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation Competition and second prize at the Wigmore Hall Competition. Born in Ćuprija (Serbia), he studied with Tomislav Milošević and Thomas Riebl. He plays a viola by Hiroshi Iizuka. Please use our website with the registration sheet. DEUTSCH Marko Milenkovic ist seit 2024 Solobratscher des WDR Sinfonieorchesters und übernimmt ab dem Wintersemester 2025 eine Professur für Bratsche an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Zuvor wurde er bereits mit 22 Jahren Solobratscher des Stuttgarter Kammerorchesters. Als Gast-Solobratscher arbeitete er u. a. mit der Camerata Bern, hr-Sinfonieorchester dem Münchner Kammerorchester und weiteren europäischen Ensembles. Festivalauftritte führten ihn zu den Salzburger Festspielen, den Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und dem Rheingau Musik Festival, wo er mit Musiker*innen wie Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Valentin Erben und Ilya Gringolts musizierte. Mit dem Adelphi Quartett gewann er internationale Preise, darunter den 1. Preis beim Irene Steels-Wilsing Stiftung Wettbewerb und den 2. Preis beim Wigmore Hall Wettbewerb.
